Network Specialist / Network Engineer

We are currently seeking a Business Continuity Network Specialist for a leading organisation in Birmingham. The role will be to join an existing team of specialists with a primary focus on configuring network hardware and associated hardware for Business Continuity rehearsals and invocations. This will involve having the ability to discuss and understand a varied selection of network configurations whilst also having the ability to replicate that configuration on alternative hardware.

The BC Network Specialist will hold knowledge of delivering Business Continuity IT services including data recovery rehearsals.

They will hold experience in the following:

Configuring Cisco routers and switches

Configuring Firewalls (Cisco, Juniper, Check Point, Sonicwall, Fortinet & Watchguard)

Familiar with network protocols and services VLAN, VTP, DNS, DHCP, etc.

Experience of working with HP ProLiant Servers, HP EVA/MSA SAN, and HP MSL tape library products would be highly beneficial.

Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Servers and VMware preferred.

The candidate will ideally hold professional qualifications such as CCNP Route and Switch, CCNP Security, CCDA, JNCIA, CCSA R75 and above or VMWare Certified Associate.

The primary office location for this role is Birmingham however there will be travel to other locations in the UK.
