Scrum Master - Permanent - London - Scrum, SDLC, Agile, TDD, BDD, Kanban, .NET, TFS, TeamCity

My client, a leading financial trading house, require a Scrum Master to join them in their offices in the city on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities of the Scrum Master include;

  • Serve and support the Development Team in their continual improvement of the delivery processes, leading by example
  • Remove impediments either personally or by coaching and guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
  • Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work and instead relying on discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
  • Facilitating and planning Scrum events and ceremonies as required
  • Supporting the Product Owner through refining and managing the product backlog effectively
  • Coaching the development teams in self organisation and cross functionality
  • Work with other Scrum Masters to increase effectiveness of the application of Scrum in the organisation

Previous skills/experience required of the Scrum Master includes;

  • A Scrum Master certification with demonstrable experience of working within a similar fast-paced development environment with a background in Project Management
  • Although this role is not a hands-on position and you won't be required to code/test/configure anything, it's important that you are very comfortable around technology.
  • Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and of several software development methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban, Lean Software Development, TDD, BDD)
  • Advanced knowledge of working in a .NET environment and relevant technology TFS, TeamCity etc
  • A demonstrable passion for Agile ways of working understanding that every team is different and so every agile implementation will be different.
  • Awareness and understanding backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition
  • Understand basic fundamentals of software development processes and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse personality types
  • Ability to coach and mentor the team to reach their highest potential
  • Confident in a client facing environment and able to communicate effectively with senior management
