Scrum Master / Agile Lead

My client who are one of the UK's leading telecommunications companies are looking for a Scrum Master / Agile Lead to join their team in Newbury on an initial 3 month contract.

Role Purpose

Responsible for end to end management and delivery of new IT capability or enhancements to current IT capability. This will ordinarily be achieved through the management of programmes of work, typically impacting several systems or platforms, delivered by a number of solution delivery managers and generally organised by portfolio/demand area.

Our client follows SAFE Agile methodology. This role essentially fills the release train engineer (RTE) role. It's a vital point of coordination between various scrum teams, deals with programme level planning (including programme increments), risk management, blocker removal continuous improvement, scrum coaching and budget control.

This role will manage high complexity projects with cross functional impact across a number of technical systems, domain areas, System Integrators and Third Parties with a focus on delivering through your domain. Projects will involve constrained resource teams and typically include significant business change /transformation. Managing senior business stakeholders is a key part of this role and it's success.

Essential Skills

  • SAFE Agile certified. Ideally will have performed and RTE role on a complex project before.
  • Extensive cross functional end to end technical project delivery experience
  • Professional Qualification Prince 2 / ITIL or significant equivalent experience
  • Understanding of the application development lifecycle
  • Technical change / transformation experience
  • Leadership - ability to manage, motivate & develop a direct team and in a matrix environment.
