Network Engineer / IP Engineer

The IP Access Shift Engineer will responsible in commissioning and maintaining access network equipment. The role also involves providing operational and technical support for operational faults minimising the impact on the business and end customers. We are constantly building our state of the art next generation network in order to meet our business and customer demands. The role involves working nights one week in three, supporting critical network changes. On call duties are also required as determined by the requirements of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and management of TTG Access network infrastructure.
  • Coordinate, plan and implement network change with accordance to our Change Management policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and configure our network technologies which is not limited to:
  • l2vpn, l3vpn, ospf, ebgp,static, igmp, vstp and vlan protocols.
  • Ensure the correct level of documentation is created, reviewed and maintained and adhered to.
  • Positive attitude towards work and exercises excellent working ethics whiles remaining professional at all times.
  • Ensure any planned or emergency network change is implemented to a high standard. Pre and post checks have been documented to confirm successful change.
  • Liaise and provide remote IP support to our ever growing Field Engineer base.
  • Support network changes or upgrades (in conjunction with Operations), ensuring that they are implemented with minimal interruption to the end customer.

Key skills required

  • CCNA/CCNP
  • Layer2 / Layer3 Switching
  • Juniper
  • Experience in a telco/ISP environment
  • Redback SE800 knowledge/experience
