Software Engineer - Cardiff - Java, REST, Spring Boot, NoSQL, JUnit

A Digital Financial Technology developing a cutting-edge native cloud platform utilising a MicroServices architecture require Java specialists to join their offices in Cardiff on a permanent basis due to a period of sustained growth. This is an opportunity to join an environment full of enthusiastic crafts people passionate about what they do/build, gain first hand exposure to some new technologies (CI/CD etc.) whilst also being given the freedom to experiment with and explore new technologies which could also work or even do a better job.General accountabilities include;

  • Creation of Unit Level testing
  • Development of user stories, identifying risks/issues
  • Work closely with the QA teams to oversee development of complex test cases in order to proactively identify defects and deal with them efficiently
  • Static code analysis - ensure that this is completed in line with quality thresholds

Hopefully you will be a pro at some/most of these (but there's always flexibility for quick learners!);

  • Java (ideally 8)
  • Solid understanding of, and previous experience developing, Web Services (REST & SOAP)
  • Spring Framework (ideally Spring Boot)
  • TDD/Unit testing (JUnit \ TestNG)
  • NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
  • Build tools (Maven \ SBT \ Gradle \ Ant)
  • SCM tools (Git \ Subversion \ CVS)
