Java Software Engineer - Contract - Cardiff - Java, Scala, SOAP/REST, SQL, Junit My client, a Digital Financial Technology company providing banks and financial services organisations with the latest applications underpinned by cutting edge tech, require Mid-Senior Java Engineers to join their offices in Cardiff on a contract basis. The Java Software Engineers will be responsible for the development and modification of frameworks whilst working closely with Software Leads to ensure all development is aligned with my client's Architectural blueprints. Accountabilities include; - Development * Creation of Unit Level testing * Development of user stories, identifying risks/issues * Development will primarily be in the Java language but there will be a requirement to maintain, and potentially extend, code written in Scala. - Quality Assurance * Work closely with the QA teams to oversee development of complex test cases in order to proactively identify defects and deal with them efficiently * Static code analysis - ensure that this is completed in line with quality thresholds - Documentation * Ensure my client's documentation of Java is kept up to date, including how it functions, how it is being developed and contribution to the operational run, release and release build documentations.
Essential techs required include:
- Web Services (REST & SOAP)
- XML Schema
- Spring Framework
- Unit testing (JUnit \ TestNG)
- Build tools (Maven \ SBT \ Gradle \ Ant)
- SCM tools (Git \ Subversion \ CVS)
