Implementation Project Manager

Our large retail client are looking for numerous Implementation Project Managers to join them for an initial 6 month contract - likely to be extended.

Job Purpose

To carry out project management, coordination and implementation activities to implement infrastructure/hardware as part of large or complex implementation projects for new/refurbished stores, warehouses, distribution centres or other operational areas. Typically manages large and/or multiple implementation projects, including moves and changes to existing implementation.

Carry out implementation activities from the following as required:

  • Design physical environment (cabinet, racks etc) for server and network equipment in an operational location to a standard specification
  • Design telephony infrastructure for an operational location to a standard specification
  • Manage large or complex implementation projects including as required from the following:
  • Manage engineering tenders
  • Manage engineering job specifications
  • Act as on site lead with accountability for physical installation of all equipment
  • Create and manage installation schedule
  • Draw up and/ or manage project plan for specific operational implementation projects
  • Manage equipment purchase against project budget
  • Track and report progress against plan to business project manager
  • Supplier & product management responsibilities may include:
    • Project-specific supplier relationship management & negotiation
    • Participating in selection of hardware products
