Unix Engineer - Derry / Londonderry

I'm currently recruiting for a Unix Engineer to work with a leading IT Systems integrator based in Derry/Londonderry.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate on application that they have extensive experience in the support of UNIX operating systems including Solaris, AIX, Linux or HPUX to include those skills listed as essential.

Essential Skils

  • Strong experience supporting UNIX Operating Systems including Linux, Solaris or AIX
  • Support of Enterprise Backup and Recovery Technologies and Strategy
  • SAN Storage Products
  • TCP/IP networking
  • Clustering technology
  • Enterprise Management Software
  • Support/mentor junior members of the team

Desirable Skills

  • Delivering service on Cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure and K5
  • DR Methodologies
  • Service Delivery within an ITIL framework
  • Logical Volume Manager Experience
  • Results driven - ability to achieve personal, company and customer objectives
  • Problem solving and issue resolution skills
  • Team-working - instinctively contributes to building a positive team spirit
  • Flexibility - adapts well to change and enjoys working in an environment of continuous improvement
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Experience in managing relationships with key internal and external technical stakeholders
  • Experience of leading medium/large sized project transitions
  • Experienced in communicating with customers with proven track record of building strong positive relationships that deliver excellent results
