Security Assurance Specialist - DLP / Symantec

Vodafone Group are currently recruiting for a DLP / Symantec Assurance Specialist based in Paddington on a 5 month contract, due to the nature of the role the succeesful candidate will be required to travel to various sites across Europe and Africa at least once a month.

Background

Vodafone Group have implemented a global Data Loss Prevention programme to deliver consistent and effective data loss prevention across all Vodafone Markets. The programme has a well-established governance framework ensuring a balance between both privacy and security. A large number of Vodafone Markets are already using the global solution.

All Markets using a local solution must comply with the global standards and align their programme accordingly, or migrate to the global solution. This process is fully overseen by Group Corporate Security.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assess local DLP deployments to identify compliance with the Global Data Loss Prevention (DLP) programme.
  • Review DLP configuration and DLP policies to understand how data is captured and assess compliance with global policies.
  • Assess compliance with the global governance framework, ensuring the correct DLP roles and responsibilities are in place, as well as the correct processes for requesting/approving new policies.
  • Review the DLP investigation process in order to assess alignment with the global investigations process and measure the risk mitigation/reduction achieved.
  • Create reports and recommendations for increasing effectiveness of DLP Policies.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Ability to engage multiple stakeholders of varying seniority across multiple countries
  • Collaborating with stakeholders globally to collate all relevant information required to complete assessment, determine effectiveness of current deployed DLP solutions
  • Ability to assess available information, agree conclusions and make recommendations for key improvements
  • Ability to project manage complex projects across multiple entities and countries, keeping track of all actions, defining agendas and meeting agreed deadlines
  • Stakeholder management
  • Scheduling meetings, defining meeting agenda's & objectives
  • Ability to assess multiple sources of information and consolidate into concise reports
  • Presenting finding to stakeholders to seek positive contributions & feedback
  • Documenting recommendations for increasing effectiveness of DLP Policies and ensuring alignment to Global company standards

TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Extensive Data Loss Prevention (DLP) work experience, using Symantec, Forcepoint, or equivalent enterprise solutions
  • Experience in using DLP tools including incident reviewing, policy creation/configuration/tuning
  • Excellent understanding of network and host based DLP technologies, processes, policies and procedures
  • Ability to organize and analyse large amounts of data and report findings
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work to assigned timescales
  • Security work experience and certification is preferred
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI & SOX) is highly desirable
